Do you remember that song? Is it from kindergarten? Or the hippy 60’s?
It’s snowing out. On the day where we all think about thanks. What better thought to have at any point in time. And now a day set aside.
If you recall from another post, I celebrated early this year with Samsun and Amanda when they visited from Toronto. And now I get another day to feel those thankful feelings all over again, thinking about all of my friends and family. And the kind and caring people who read my posts and share their insights with me. It’s heartwarming.
Peaches has brought over her toy in agreement.
Peaches, she’s the pup who hasn’t really met a cat except from a distance or behind a glass window.. That would be Lyra, the cat Amanda owned when she met Samsun. And who, I hear, slowly adjusted to Samsun’s presence in their lives and now is adored by both. When they drive here for longer visits, Lyra comes along and Peaches sees her, through the window alongside the door.
I grew up on a horse farm where cats were needed to take care of the mice problem in the barns. I used to feed our many cats, morning and late afternoon. “Here kitty kitty!” I would call out, as I walked from the house to the far barn where they were fed. They would come running from the field or the garden or the other barn. Some were very friendly. Some less so. But most loved to be patted. Loved to be loved.
Thinking of cats, right after Samsun and Amanda left I created my first image:
I later added the night cat:
And then… totes. Here’s one:

So, yes, thank you for being a friend: do you hear the song?
To all of you readers. And all of your well loved pets. To all that we love: this beautiful world getting cloaked by the first snow this winter.
For all that is good and compassionate. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
